Second time staying at John’s place. Perfect spot if you have a wedding at the Elora Mill, quick and easy walk to the venues. Was spacious for our group of 6.

Location, location, location. The place is right across from Elora Mill and easily walkable to all the town’s attractions.

I had a wonderful stay at John’s Airbnb in Elora! The accommodations were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable — especially the cozy bedding, which made for a great night’s sleep. The property offered excellent parking and was close to everything, making it easy to explore all that Elora has to offer. John was a fantastic host — responsive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Elora!

Had a great stay while exploring everything Elora had to offer. Location is perfect for access to downtown area, all shops and restaurants within walking distance. The host John was very friendly and proactive with messages. Lots of close by excess free parking.

This is, no doubt, the most adorable and conveniently located rental space in Elora. Its super close to the town, close to everything. John was wonderful and helpful and made himself available upon arrival which was nice. The apartment was clean, adorable, rustic and just a gem all around. We would most definately go back to this charming Gingerbread house. Thanks John for helping us create yet another great memory in Elora!

John is an incredible host! His location is perfect for a wedding and he is incredibly responsive to messages or questions. He has multiple apartments all on the same site which makes it perfect. We had 3 of the rental units and each of them were nicely set up and had everything you would need.

Perfect downtown location near everything and a rare find to have plenty of parking. Beds were comfy and the apartment was spacious. Plenty of extra bedding and towels. Will definitely try to stay again!

Had a great stay at John's place. The location was perfect - everything we needed was within walking distance. We loved exploring Elora on foot - checking out the local shops and enjoying Victoria Park incredible views on the same day. It was the perfect place for a relaxing and fun trip.

Stayed here for a friends wedding, we were a party of 5 women and we all couldn’t get over how cute and quaint this location was and our favourite part was the ideal parking as well as the proximity to our venue as well as the other amenities! I would 1000% recommend and return! So happy we found this place!

Fantastic, very convenient location able to fit 4 people comfortably, 5-6 if you HAVE to, but not ideal on a firm tight couch. Very decent space to not be on top of each other. Some things could be updated for sure, but it was still stocked well with lots of linens and towels. If you’re ok with not pristine aesthetic with some minor flaws, it’s still good bang for your buck. We didn’t have any major issues with our stay so didn’t need any assistance from the host but he was very proactive and responsive to messages. FYI this space is a basement apt and was quite musty upon arrival but was a quick fix with opening all windows. Convenience for walking across the street to a wedding at Elora Mill is the big winner here.

Great clean property very close to “downtown” Elora. Parking may seem to be an issue but there is free public parking across the street next to lcbo. As an additional bonus it is a very cool liquor store.

The Gingerbread suite could not have had a better location for us to stay at while attending a wedding at Elora Mill. John was accommodating so we could check in early, and very responsive to help coordinate. Tidy and we'll kept rooms and was exactly what we were looking for during our stay. Highly recommend!

I wish we could have stayed longer. The place was beautiful, spacious and clean. The location was wonderful. A lovely place to stay in a gorgeous town. We found everything we needed, had a lovely evening walk to the Gorge lookout as well as the quaint Mill area retail spaces. I look forward to going again.

First time using a property for a stay that wasn't a hotel. Very pleased with the experience! Unit was very clean and welcoming. John made the checkin very easy for this very inexperienced and tech challenged girl. Lol. Thank you John! Would definitely recommend this unit if you are looking to visit Elora!

We were in yown for a wedding at the Elora Mill. The location was excellent. The wedding venue was 100 ft from the front door. The reception 1 block. Very spacious and clean. Highly recommend

We stayed at the Gingerbread Suite for a wedding at the Elora Mill and it was fantastic. The rental was clean and spacious and within a minute's walk from the wedding venue. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating. Couldn't recommend this place more!

The place was close to the main downtown area and was well kept. Plenty of parking and the space was very spacious.

Very disappointed in this property and I have rented many times on this platform. The photos did not reflect the actual rental. The furniture and bedding was different than in the photos, and not in a good way. The unit could use a good deep clean (lots of cobwebs and dust in the corners) and the washroom floor was very dirty (can’t comment on the rest of the floors- water spilled on the washroom floor and I used a white towel to wipe it up and the towel was filthy after wiping up the water). The unit was very dark as it is in the basement and the windows are very small. The location was excellent, though in the high season it might be very busy if all units in the house are occupied (no others were occupied during our stay) and note that part of the building has a cute ice cream shop in it that was busy during my short stay, but again since all other units were empty the customer traffic was not an issue for us.

Everything was perfect! John was even nice enough to suggest a nice restaurant when I asked. Great location. We will be back for sure!

Located downtown Elora steps from the river, the milll and the river. It is a basement. We could hear the neighbours above. John was a gracious and resposive host.

Came for Mother’s Day for one night with the family and it was perfect! Lots of space, had everything we need, and attached to an ice cream shop! Super close to downtown walking distance to everything. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Location is spot on here. Apartment is exactly as described. Walkable distance to all the shops, restaurants and the spa. Would be great in the summer with the ice cream shop too. No issues with noise from above.

I had a fantastic stay! The listing was exactly as described, the space was clean, and the location was ideal—everything was within walking distance. While not a fault of John’s, staying in the basement apartment meant occasionally hearing other Airbnb guests walking and talking upstairs. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful place in a great location, and I would happily return.

We stayed at the gingerbread house for a family wedding. John was super nice and flexible with our check in time which was greatly appreciated as it allowed us to get ready for a formal wedding and still have a bit of time to unwind after our drive. The home was charming, quaint, very comfortable, and we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for a wedding at the Mill. This spot was absolutely perfect for someone in the wedding party, as it was nice and close to everywhere we needed to be we. John was responsive and very clear with instructions. 10/10 will be trying to stay here again the next wedding I have in Elora!

The place was great and spacious however the bathroom was not cleaned properly. There was hair from the previous guest in the shower and shampoo marks on the tub.

Went to John's Airbnb for a weekend stay for sisters wedding at the Elora Mill. Great location, steps away from where the ceremony was taking place. Enough parking, enough space to get ready for wedding. Beds were comfortable. Would recommend John's place to family/friends.

We rented all of his four units for my family. It was great having us all close by and a 2 min walk to the mill and the Main Street. Great for being close by for the Daughters wedding.

Perfect proximity for attending a wedding at Elora Mill! Easy to find and while we had some trouble getting in the door (which was just user error on our part), John immediately answered our phone call and we were able to get in. Would definitely stay here again as we didn’t get any time to explore the town but would love to come back to see what Elora has to offer.

We chose the Gingerbread House as it was the ideal location to stay for our son's wedding and good value as well. We loved how close it is to the Elora Mill and all the attractions were within walking distance. Plenty of space and good facilities.

Great location. Walkable into the main part of town. Pictures were accurate to the actual unit. It was in the lowest level so you did hear people moving about above you. Not sure if other units are available. If so I would recommend these . Otherwise Gingerbread House is very well located and I would stay there again.

My friends and I enjoyed our short stay in Elora. The location was great and the AC was appreciated during the hotter weather. John is a communicative host. Two things to share for future visitors to consider: parking is only available for one vehicle and John provided descriptions of nearby public parking lots as alternatives. Both parking lots were full as Elora is a popular tourist destination. Secondly, the upstairs tenants have a baby and you can hear it crying if the AC isn't on.

John gave us very clear instructions as to how to check in and what the parking situation was like. We had a wedding at 3pm, and John was very flexible and told us we can check in at 2pm to freshen up. The airbnb was very nice and clean and had everything we needed. definitely highly recommend! thanks John!

This place was in an absolutely amazing location. Steps from the gorge and Elora Mill, across the bridge from the main downtown area. Tons of restaurants, shops and patios. Couldn't have asked for anything better. The apartment was exactly what we were expecting and everything advertized was there. Everything was great!! Thanks John!!! My husband and I stayed here, along with my sister and her boyfriend, for a wedding we had at the Elora Mill and it was the perfect location! It was basically a 30 second walk to the Foundry building where the ceremony was held and not even a five minute walk then to the Granary where the reception was. Everything was clean, and close access to all the restaurants and shops in Elora. I would definitely come again!

My mother in law and my adult children stayed here and we loved it from the moment we arrived. Clear instructions to get inside and we were not disappointed. Felt very comfortable. We visited for a family wedding and found ample space and comfort for all three generations in our little group. The apartment is beautiful and well equipped. John was incredibly proactive in providing clear and detailed instructions and super friendly. My kids were thrilled to discover the ice cream shop upstairs and have declared they want to move in. 😆 Highly recommended!

There was cobwebs in the corner and spiders and the oven wasn’t very clean but other wise it was good.

This location was perfect for our wedding event - no driving required. Our wedding ceremony was early on Friday but John was able to grant us early access so the ladies had a place to get ready. Thanks again for everything.

Great little place to stay! A basement apartment super close to Elora Mill and downtown. You can hear upstairs tenants moving around fairly easily, but as long as they are quiet it’s not too bad!

John was a fabulous host and true to his word his unit is a 1 minute walk to the Elora foundry and less than 5 minutes to the Mill. John was responsive to our check in needs and when I told him about a loose step in the entry way he apologized and said he would take care of it right away. If your attending a wedding in Elora John's place is ideal!

Perfect spot to cross the bridge into the center of the village. We went to the Mill, Evelyn restaurant and the pub on the water next to the bridge. A perfect night and beautiful Airbnb. Highly recommend.

John was a very responsive host. The place was in such a perfect location for walking through the downtown of Elora. The place was cozy and spacious and great amenities for kids/babies if needed. Only downside was a party on the second floor above that was quite loud. John addressed this himself and mentioned he does not allow for this type of noise typically I would recommend and/or book again

John's place was beautiful. check-in was quick and easy and the place was stunning. only thing that bothered me was the counter tops felt really greasy, maybe it was just the type of counter top but we made breakfast there and I tried to give them a better wipe down before we left which seemed to make them less greasy. besides that it's a great place and I definitely recommend

Check in was easy and appreciated the flexibility and responsiveness of the host. Location is very close to everything. The unit was comfortable with big beds and TVs. It felt clean. The price felt high for a basement in a multi tenant house, but we booked this last minute so I’m not familiar if it’s inline with the area. Overall would happily book again.

Fantastic location for weddings at Elora Mill. The Foundry wedding chapel is literally across a small parking lot (maybe 100 meters). The suite is spacious, providing comfortable living space plus the two large bedrooms. Excellent internet. John is very nice and a proactive communicator. Overall excellent experience - would stay again for sure.

We were attending a wedding at the Elora Mill and this location could not have been more convenient, especially with the cold weather in January. It was very spacious, stocked with everything you could need, and incredibly comfortable! We had plenty of space for 5 adults and would highly recommend staying here if ever you are in the area.

We came to Elora for a wedding at the mill and this was definitely the best location to stay! We were steps (across the parking lot) from the ceremony space and it made our stay so easy not worrying about shuttles. The location was amazing, restaurants annd coffee shops anre walkable and John’s place had plenty of room for our two couples to get ready. Will book in a heartbeat if we get another Elora wedding 👏🏼

I really enjoyed my stay at The Gingerbread House. The location was ideal for exploring downtown Elora. John was really helpful before and during my stay. The only downfall was that the people above us were quite loud until quite late. I would definitely book again.

This is our 4th stay at the Gingerbread House and it never disappoints! It’s so comfortable that you very quickly feel at home. The apartment is spacious with comfortable furniture, soft linens, and a well stocked kitchen. Being able to walk over the bridge and be in the heart of the town within seconds is an added bonus. As many people have already mentioned, John is a great host who communicates well. He’s a really friendly guy! This is our top pick when staying in the Elora area and would definitely come back.
